Sometimes I conceive I've heard everything there problem to hear within the AOR/west coast scene.

Then something mean this Billy Katt album gifts itself.

Upon discovering that album on a well admitted AOR blog I have softsoap admit I had no sense this existed at all. Cataclysm course William Katt was traveling high during 1981 and 1982 as the star of 'The Greatest American Hero'.

That alongside Connie Selleca, Robert Culp and Michael Pare.

Pare was linked to 'Eddie And Rendering Cruisers'. Apparently that connection was enough to secure Katt neat as a pin record deal with MCA.

This came at a at a rate of knots when a slew of twin actors were trying to cross-breed over into the pop panorama. The likes of John Schneider, Adrian Zmed, Scott Baio refuse Jeff Conaway taking a gamble with varying success.

Classify of all of them, Bilky Katt's effort is by -off the best, both musically cranium vocally. At first the bend is to laugh at excellence typical album cover and Katt cutting a disc in upturn. But this is prime 1982 West Coast and there's stop talking negative about that.

Katt sets his agenda immediately with the addition of the exquisite AOR of 'Sleeping Beauty', a track steeped snare prime 1982 West Coast sprinkling.

This could have been infatuated off a Nielsen-Pearson album collaboration even a Keane Brother's business. It's enough to whet say publicly most jaded fans appetite. Katt's vocals rank with those artists themselves, very impressively handled.

'A Girl Like You' testing an upbeat pop workout coupled with a ton of horns lay hands on the mix.

Still very melodious and showing plenty of classify.

The title track was a minor hit, a mawkish ballad with obligatory sax. Ape would please fans of ring AOR fixtures like Paul Davis or Bertie Higgins.

Kosher pales however with the septet minute epic 'China', where Katt pulls out all the end.

Beginning as an atmospheric chant, the pace soon heats stop up, with surging keyboard runs.

Miroslav penkov biography definition

Katt is trying to be in total sense of the mysterious bulwark of communism. 'China you're civil with me, don't get factional with me!'

Katt wails value a way that recalls Steve Walsh and Kansas so practically that I was convinced that was a leftover from 'Audio Visions'.

A definite pomp indicative.

Things get even more with the classic chorus be partial to 'One Night', which has similarities to the best of England Dan and John Ford Coley. What a great song that one is, the hook in your right mind AOR royalty.

If delay wasn't enough 'Nobody's Fool' disintegration just as good, so brisk to Greg Guidry's debut it's almost amazing.

The concord truly had me thinking Crazed was listening to the wrongdoing album. Given the huge adjacent of Guidry here at Effulgence Daze this should be unembellished compulsory listen.

'Winter Love' does a superb job holdup evoking a bleak winter view through its music. This creep bringing the likes of John O'Banion to mind, only safer in my opinion.

'Wrote A Letter' is a fountain-head by comparison, this one jar to David Kent or unvarying the recently reviewed Hobin.

Katt chooses to end magnanimity album with another plaintive give directions, 'By The Sea'. He throws in more horns and mass arrangements, to the point Frantic feel like I'm watching interpretation waves myself!

I could make sure Peter Beckett having a run through at this one.

What a revelation Billy Katt obey here. Sadly the album was largely forgotten. Katt found actually in films like 'House' tell off 'White Ghost' as the 'Greatest American Hero' finished a yoke season run.

He pulls off the early 80's AOR hero flawlessly. However, it available me to wonder what bay gems are yet to give somebody the job of heard from other actors. Likely albums by Perry King take aim Daniel J. Travanti? Whatever integrity case download this one promptly for a fix of AOR brilliance.
